Why I don't support jk rowling, tom felton, etc. (and why you shouldn't either)

First off, let's talk about jk rowling. Jkr tweeted “#IStandWithMaya,” referring to a British woman who was fired for questioning why the British government should allow trans people to self-identify. Note that this was NOT her first act of transphobia, as she publicly funded a website known to sell and profit off of transphobic merchandise. Some of these include pins that say things like “f!ck your pronouns,” and just a bunch of other really messed up things.

Another incident that has come up not so recently is her anti-semitism and racism in the Harry Potter franchise. (which, by the way, is not all original, and I will be talking about that also) The goblins in Harry Potter are rooted with anti-semitism if you pay the slightest bit of attention. Greedy, hook-nosed, bank-controlling people? Doesn’t sound great. Not only does it not sound great, it sounds like a super anti-Semitic stereotype. Along with her anti-semitism, she also wrote very racist things into her books and movies, such as naming a character “Cho Chang,” and changing the character of Lavender Brown from a POC to a white women.

*The Harry Potter books are proved to be somewhat plagiarized, especially the 4th book, where she faced a lawsuit against the original author but won only because her books were far more successful.

TOM FELTON, THE TWINS, SEAN BIGGERSTAFF
Tom Felton, mainly known for playing Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise, is, to put it simply, a shitty person. Recently he has gotten TONS of fame because Draco suddenly became super popular on tiktok (tbh, idk why) and since then he has been taking advantage of the sexualzation of his character (who is a minor up until the last book/movie) and has used it to profit. He is making people pay $20+ to watch him on live streams doing nothing but playing his guitar and talking about his dog. It’s bullshit. Recently he has also been reading fan fiction about his character, and it is very disgusting.

Along with that, Tom Felton has also refused to speak out against jkr. Fwi, he was given SEVERAL chances to do so if not on his own account like he should. An interviewer literally told him that jkr is transphobic and his response was “i don't really have a reaction to that. I'm the last person who would involve myself in drama.” This is extremely disrespectful in so many aspects. For one, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Matthew Lewis, and many other main/side characters have publicly spoken out against jkr and her actions. Tom is one of the few people who hasn’t. Not only that, after receiving tons of backlash for not speaking out, he called jkr a genius. (No, this was not followed up or backed by saying “her writing” is genius, even if it was that still makes it untrue since she’s unoriginal.) He has gone months now without saying a word about the trans community or showing his support to them against jkr, and the only time he said something remotely supportive, was in a paid interview. No apologies, no posts, nothing.

As for James and Oliver Phelps, I personally no longer support them for the same reason, which is that they refused to speak out against jkr for the sole purpose of not wanting to cause “drama.” once again using this as an excuse is extremely disrespectful and hurtful, and by saying that you're basically saying “sorry, peoples human rights aren't as important to me as staying out of drama.” Don’t you see the problem?

Lastly, Sean Biiggerstaff has tweeted some very anti-semetic things and is just an overall shitty person. I'm not going to elaborate on this one because the tweets are proof enough.
